It is a time of drugs, sexual liberation, and revolution that is changing the world, even in her hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. None of it attracts Grace; instead, she finds power in the occult. Everything is beginning to work well for Grace in the 1970s, especially her tarot card reading business.

One day she receives a letter signed by the forbidden name she promised to forget. For many years, Grace has felt a presence lurking about her, but something stops it from getting close to her. Now, this entity is beginning to reveal itself. Why did her mother recognize this name? Did Grace awaken a dark force by turning away from her religion? What awaits her is beyond anything she could imagine.
