The Commute: an Extended Poem in Xxvi Parts Patricia Edith

Patricia Edith's extended poem takes us for a ride through the environment and the progress that threatens it; through suicide, death, family and love; through the actual but also the metaphorical commute we all make through our lives."Patricia Edith's voice is clear and authentic, retaining a thoughtful, deliberate calm in the face of an unkempt, riven landscape pressing in on all sides of this extended poem sequence. These are citizen-poems of the 21st Century, glassed in behind the car's windshield, watching the bridge inch closer through a cloud of exhaust. Their subject is estrangement and their subject is freedom."Joe Millarauthor of "Overtime"
