Travelle Laboreor is a troubled man, sojourning the United States from one hazardous job to another. He goes to a secluded beach to collect his thoughts, and rescues a young surfer during a shark attack. Rendered unconscious due to blood loss, he later awakens in a hospital. There, he reflects upon the past seven years of his life. He recalls his career as an attorney specializing in frivolous lawsuits. After winning a big case, he went out on the town and fled an accident which killed a young mother. Feeling conviction, Travelle set out to make amends. He felled gigantic trees as a lumberjack, and was a commercial fisherman. He worked the streets as a police officer. As an ironworker, he walked the red steel at dizzying heights. Deep in the bowels of the earth, he mined coal. As a rodeo bullfighter, he engaged a man-killing, wild bull. Whenever honored as a hero, he moved on. Detectives suspect his involvement in the unsolved homicide, and are hot on his trail. Travelle finally meets a pastor who shares the Gospel message with him. This high-octane adventure story follows the life of a spiritually tormented man on the road to redemption.
