Matty used to always say that "God don't want me," and maybe for good reason. His life was family, sex, and drugs. But Matty didn't know how to be a part of his family after everything was taken from him. He was so busy running but he couldn't ever outrun himself or his suitors, for that matter. For all his trying, Matty was damned whether he did it or not. So he just gave himself over to foreign desires that consumed him despite his valiant fight. He was conflicted from birth. He was the oddball out from the very beginning - a pariah, outcast, an afterthought, so he believed. So Matty had to learn how to survive in the shadows of life despite the fact that he was too damned handsome for his own good and effortlessly good at being bad without ever knowing how. It didn't matter to anyone, except Matty, if he was straight or gay, he was wanted, even if that want came by force. Matty was drowning in other's desires and every time he tried to come up for air, he was pushed or pulled back down by those same desires. A rose is still a rose, whether black, withered, or completely dead. Matty was caught somewhere in the middle of life and death, but he was still a rose, by the standard of those who desired him, relentlessly. But this ain't no simple tale of love and deceit. It is a true and complicated story that is as hard read as it was for the one who lived it. But there is only one way to know the power of light, Even in the Darkness. Matty has been lost so long that he don't know the way back home, so he wanders, Even in the Darkness.
