The Requiem: for the Love of Money K. Rosen First edition

A riveting story about love, trust and then dark betrayal that begins a journey of violence and chilling attempts to escape, forever altering the lives of many people. Beautiful Katie Roark has been looking forward to an enjoyable week-end trip to visit her friend, Loren in St. Louis, with whom she has a business relationship occasionally involving art & design, but more often a personal relationship including incredibly long bouts of passionate sex. Upon her arrival in St. Louis, she unknowingly becomes entangled in strange activities that seem to involve large sums of money and directly involving her friend Loren, which results in unfortunate consequences for Katie because powerful people know what she has seen, what she has witnessed. Violence and terror become an almost constant threat for her as she tries to escape and, for the love of money, several innocent and not so innocent people die.
