Some of the thirteen victims were beginning to recover, but others never would. Most of them had lost their faith in a system that had already failed them, and vowed that this second time, the prey would become the predators and the Judgment would be final. This is the first of the Morongo Murders, works of fiction inspired by cases the author prosecuted during 23 years spent at the Morongo Basin Office of the District Attorney of San Bernardino County. Root has published seven Scottish historical novels and one Scottish fantasy, with a second in progress.
