The Author takes you back to a time when Palo-Indian clans established their home in its shadows and roamed the banks of the northern branch of the Platt River Basin. They call themselves "Nermernuh (The People)" and they find themselves in a desperate struggle for survival as they face a drastic climate change. As Hunter-Gathers they have traditionally hunted the great Mammoth that supplied them with meat for their food stuffs and hide for clothing and shelters. But, these have become extinct and the clan must develop new tools to hunt the faster moving Buffalo (American Bison). The Nermernuh are not without assistance in their struggle. A small group of alien beings from a planet if the Sirius system has intervened in their lives through the mind one of the children. They bring them new knowledge in the development of a new stone technology that will allow them to hunt Buffalo successfully. How is this brought to light to tell their story? Enter two young archeologists, in the early part of the 20th century, who find a burial site in a cave along the river bank. Their exploration brings new meaning and insight into the lives of the Nermernuh people. The twists and turns of their research lead them to conclude that this culture lived through the transition from the Paleolithic era to the Early Archaic era.
