Heritage of Hope Mildred Mae Spencer
Heritage of Hope
Mildred Mae Spencer
More than 150 beautiful, faith-filled, nature-inspired poems by native southeastern Kentucky poet, Adrelle. Born in the early 1900s, she exemplified hope, strength, and courage and fashioned these foundational strengths into hundreds of poems over a span of over thirty years. Many have been published and some used in hospitals, churches, nursing homes, and private businesses. Appalachian culture is based on strong faith in our higher power. Being surrounded with natural beauty evokes in us a longing to communicate with our Creator. The space and quietness of the mountains brings us into focus as we prepare for meditation and study. This setting is where Adrelle wrote, studied, and prayed. Her location in Kentucky was fertile soil for creative awakening.
