Wordisthenics is a workbook designed for students in grades 5 - 11 and adults who want to improve their vocabulary to use 240 vocabulary words from common curricular activities in a variety of ways. Such an approach allows the user to develop skills and confidence with these words. There are 12 lessons, consisting of 20 words each. The activities include word recognition, alphabetizing, classifying, matching words and definitions, multiple choice synonyms and antonyms, secret codes, scrambled words, crossword puzzles, word searches, and word use as instructed. This book contains learning units and activities, as well as tests. Teachers who choose this workbook may decide to use the entire book, making a copy for each student and having them do certain portions as assigned or working at their own rate allowing faster students to work faster and slower students to work slower. Some teachers may choose to make copies of certain sections of the workbooks for use on certain days. Parents may wish to use Wordisthenics to help their children prepare for standardized testing. Word strength empowers people to communicate more effectively and to show others their intellectual abilities.
