It continues the story of his first book, From Notation To Music, which began with his first student works, and ended with his last visual score in 1980. Music Album features Ralph Blauvelt's narrative about his music and the people and places in his musical life. He discusses the connections between his diverse compositions and traces recurring themes in his music. Blauvelt's narrative weaves through items from his collection of newspaper clippings, concert programs, program notes, reviews, letters, and contemporary journal entries. Music Album includes numerous photos of the composer's compositions.
