The book provides a scholarly investigation of the primary moral philosophical and foreign policy issues involved in a post 9/11 environment in which the United States has pursued a policy of preventive war and a less than optimal response to Islamist terrorism. It should be valuable to students of political science, US foreign policy, moral-political philosophy/ethics, moral theology and those individuals interested in developing a greater understanding of the issues involved in avoiding war and waging Peace. This work represents the culmination of several years' research and analysis by the author in the realm of US foreign policy and provides a reasoned critique of the "Bush Doctrine" including offensive wars of aggression. It provides an analysis of the origin and nature of Jihadi based terrorism as it affects Americans. The author endeavors to highlight the present problems and false assumptions while suggesting a way forward.
