The Gate: a Journey J. M. Doslobos
The Gate: a Journey
J. M. Doslobos
Robert William "Tommy" Thomas is a widowed man in his early fifties who has a good job, a house shared with his grown daughter and a cat, and a camper van. And memories: of a woman and the camper and a trip to a favored place; and of a gate, a picture of which enhances his living room wall. He also feels a loss, a loss of the woman, Rosa, with whom he made the trip. The gate has become more than merely a framed picture, it has become for him a portal to the treasure Rosa gave him and which he feels he has lost. He leaves his job and sets out on a late-summer journey - he calls it a quest - to regain the treasure. But how can he find something that is not truly tangible? The gate and the road to it are calling. This is a story about love, which is often almost as painful as it is wonderful. It is a story about life, and wonder, and triumph.
