Revelation: a Letter for the Last Generation: Finding the Heart of God in the Midst of Judgement

"Revelation: A Letter for the Last Generation" is an entirely fresh approach to the study of the last book of the New Testament. For nearly 1900 years, the Christian church had changed little with regard to the interpretation of Bible prophecy. That was all to change in the late 1800's as men such as Dwight Moody and C. I. Scofield would not only change the timeline of events 180 degrees from what the church had always held, but create a educational system for ministry that would insure the propagation of their position. By elevating this new understanding of interpretation to the level of a doctrinal imperative, the Christian church has been left with few other voices to openly discuss alternatives to what has come to be called, the "pre-tribulation rapture" position. While this position is not in conflict with sound, conservative doctrines of the church, it is in opposition to reason, logic and our understanding of the Jewish nature of the writings of the first century church. Much of the confusion surrounding prophetic interpretation is a direct result of the insistency that a preconceived timeline be used as a template to guide the believer in his studies. In writing this study, the approach was clear from the beginning: utilizing all we know of Jewish writing style, conservative Christian doctrine, logic and reason, let's once again open the pages of Scripture and allow God's word to be communicated without the insistence that we must have certain events occur where we expect them. What is discovered in this approach is the ability to take the reader, chapter by chapter, through his own Scriptures and provide the tools necessary to understand a prophetic timeline and, therefore, the events which lead up to the hope of every believer - the return of Jesus as the King of Kings. It's an exciting adventure whose focus is on understanding the heart of a loving God in the midst of judgement so we might better serve Him. The book is written in a way that makes it practical for use by any Christian believer, but detailed and doctrinally sound enough for those in full time ministry or studying for ministry. It's chapter by chapter format make it a perfect companion to the classroom, Bible study group or for personal use and application
