Life is an uncertain business. Every day we hear of accidents and disasters, which, without warning, crash into the routine of life, changing everything. Mike was in his mid-thirties, happily married to Julia, and they had a nine year old son, Sam. Mike enjoyed his job, and he lived an uneventful life with his family. He would have liked more children, but that had not happened. He would have liked more money, but then, who wouldn't? All in all, life was good, and set for many more good years together. Suddenly a succession of blows shattered his world. He discovered that his wife was cheating on him, and they broke up. As a result he lost his home, there was great pressure on his finances, and he fought against strong feelings of depression and hopelessness. His one real joy was time with Sam. He was enjoying a happy day with Sam when his world fell apart. In an instant he lost his son, together with everything and everyone that he knew, and very nearly his life. As Mike is forced to confront the reality of his situation, he found himself caught up in an intriguing, fascinating and terrifying adventure, unlike anything he could have imagined in his wildest dreams.
