Every Day is New Again: Understanding Dementia
Dr. Jerry Turner
This book is the result of four years of information gathering in preparation for Dr. Turner's eight hour Dementia courses. It focuses less on the biological causes and effects and more on understanding the psychological and sociological impact of each stage of Dementia. This information will have a direct impact on day to day interaction with dementia clients; and allow one to see the person inside the disease. There are two chapters dedicated to Alzheimer's - a form of Dementia. While not dismissing the need for understanding the biological impact, there will be a portion on neuro-anatomy. Understanding the basic operations of the brain will help to understand behaviors, motivations, and emotions.
