Mr. Moshe Vaknin
This novel is based on a true story that happened during the seventies in a tough southern neighborhood in Israel. A grown child at the age of thirteen years old has decided to change the rules in his little town. The town is crowded with immigrants from more than fifty countries. The difficult life of the kids makes it impossible for them to survive the harsh rules of the street, when there is no law and the entire system is corrupted. The child is facing a true moral dilemma: what shall he do when he is beaten up? When young girls are raped, and no one is there to help them? Should he give the other chick or find a better way of coping? Through his journey, the author conveys a remarkable description of the divided and estranged Israeli society, when, one should note that the ability of the author to get into the eyes of the child is extraordinary.
