Symie's Story: Early Memories of an Old Jew: from South Haven, Michigan
David M Liscow Md
The early farming years of the 1900's in South Haven Michigan are recounted by an old Jewish resident to his local Jewish Doctor, David Liscow. Dr. Liscow weaves Symie's recollections into a wonderful memoir of Jewish immigration to this rural community and the family's evolution from farmers to farm/resort hosts. This memoir preserves personal anecdotes of Jewishness, hard work, and community.
