The Josie Poems: for the Woman Who Loved the Silence
Robert Wiltsey
When a person is mourning, it?s not normally the time to make a book... But after Josie died, I had a camera which she had used to take pictures, while kayaking through the lakes around Prescott, Arizona. When I viewed them, they were so outstanding that I knew what to do with the grieving poems I?d written for her... ? ?The Josie Poems? were a collaboration with her intelligence & taste in photographs after her tragic death. Matching the poems to the photos seemed a very natural thing... I knew the poems had a powerful intensity, but Josie?s photographs matched the poems, & even surpassed them. I was delighted to be able to display her talent, while unburdening my own grief. The Josie Poems were the result.
