This work was originally written as a supplemental textbook for two classes the author taught at Brigham Young University, Marriage Enrichment and The LDS Family. There have been enough requests for the book from those not in colleges that the decision was made to make it more widely available. The Moving Target contrasts the expertise necessary to accurately hit an archery target to the skills needed to consistently hit the ever-moving target of pure, true, celestial love. It?s about first preparing oneself to be a perfect mate. Second, when ready to give love, then wisely seek true love with a compatible partner. Finally, after finding a suitable mate, with patience and commitment nurture and perfect the truelove relationship by using ten sacred scripture principles as a sure foundation upon which to build a marriage and family. The Moving Target supplements these precious scripture truths about love with sound research and social science principles. It is a book about seeking the ideal and challenge given in Matthew 5:48 to hit the bulls eye 100% of the time, ?Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect? and to become truly one with an eternal mate. Although perfect love in this life may not be completely possible, the principles reviewed in the book are helpful for single individuals, dating couples, and married partners alike to consistently achieve better relationship scores.
