Publisher Marketing: Can the romance between Becca and Jacob survive without the music? Becca hasn't sang with Jacob and the band all summer. They've been doing shows in LA. She's been at Orchestra camp. When she finally get's the chance to perform with them, a single show confirms that she's still got it. Jacob is sure that the band won't make it without her, but she's ready to start her junior year of high school back back in Santa Barbara . They both know that keeping the group together will be impossible. The only way Jacob can keep his dream alive is to find a girl with as much talent and charisma as Becca. The guys in the band set out to find a new girl and discover Loni. She's a sexy, talented, take charge kind of girl. Although Becca seems happy about the new arrangement, there's no way she'll let Loni have her spotlight or her man without a fight. Back at home, Becca continues to struggle with her insecurities, but feeling duty-bound to pull her brokenhearted friend, Karley, out of her funk, she enlists the help of her new friend, Chad, a nerdy guy that followed her home from Orchestra camp. He proves to be useful in many ways. Maybe she could get used to having him around. In the second book of the Shy Girl series, Becca struggles to balance her feelings for Jacob with her need to find her own way. She learns that to discover her dreams she has to follow her heart. Contributor Bio: Laskosky, Kim Kristin Shaw Amrine grew up in the small town of St. Anthony, Idaho as the oldest of five children. There she helped out on her family's dairy farm, and worked with her cousins every year harvesting their Grandpa's potatoes. She had inspiring teachers, great friends, and wonderful parents, and thus, a very fulfilling childhood. Maybe that's why she enjoys delving into the minds of young people. As an adult, she married her college sweetheart, Kyle, and moved to California. She quickly found that she could be happy anywhere, and has found life long friends and built relationships with her husbands family in the Golden State. She now lives in Galt, California--or Mayberry, as she likes to call it--where she and her husband are raising their four daughters, and she works as a special Education Paraprofessional. She has always had a love for language and the effect of words. Her passion is using them to build worlds and creating distinct personalities in characters. She hopes to publish more Young Adult books in the future as well as a Historical fiction series based on the family of the last Tzar of Russia.
