This book is an up close and personal journey of a hillbilly boy Marine who spent one full year in Korea as a forward observer. He could not wait to go home to Arkansas, but he met an earth angel on the way and never got back there, but he and she did go home to the Siskiyou Mountains of Oregon which took a long time and a long journey, but together they found a home in the woods. So, we can say "You can't go home again," because the old home is not, and cannot, be home, but the new home is the real home when you add an earth angel and some kids.
