On the first day of his senior year, Shawn McLeod meets an exciting new girl in the parking lot of the Russellville High School. The young lady, Dani Bradberry, had moved from her north Georgia home to live with her grandparents after losing her mother in a tragic accident during the summer. She is an only child and her father, a traveling salesman, didn't want to leave her home alone. They become very close, as they spend as much time together, as they can. In the process of leveling an area around the old cabin, Shawn accidentally unearths an amazing treasure worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Their desperate attempt to secure and protect the treasure sets off an international media sensation. When all hell breaks loose and the little family seems doomed, a historically unique legal situation arises to produce an absolutely amazing ending.
