The Hound of the Baskervilles is the third novel featuring Sherlock Holmes. Throughout his life Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote four novels and in excess of 50 stories starring the famous fictional detective.
This mystery is largely set on the Darmoor in Devon, which is in England?s countryside. It tells the story of a family cursed by a legend, the fearsome hound of the Baskervilles, which has a supernatural origin.
Large portions of this novel are told with only Doctor Watson in attendance, but never fear, Sherlock Holmes does return. It is a fantastic read that is challenging to solve without the help of Mr. Holmes and the good Doctor.
The annotations are offered as an aid to the reader with some of the more dated language for this fabulous story. This is truly a classic mystery novel and will be enjoyed for generations to come.
