This is the story of two people of different races who fell in love with each other, ignoring their difference in skin colour, and found their lives enriched as a result. Ebony, whose real name was Jasmine, was a shy girl, very sensitive, and she was sad after the death of her father. She suddenly found love and happiness after walking along a riverbank and meeting Ivory, whose real name was Toby. She found love with him, and later in life, they finally married and had two children together. The story begins in South Africa, in one of the townships in the late 1950s, although it could be any-where and anytime in the world.
