A routine case exposes more than a cheating husband in global proportions. Forced into retirement, big city cop Steve Wade refuses to hang up his holster, at least not yet. Starting a new career as a P. I. seemed like the next best thing. Partnering up with his quirky daughter Stephanie, a law school graduate, seemed like a good idea at the time. However that in itself will present challenges Steve hadn't anticipated. Eager to make a name for himself as a P. I. no case is too small nor menial. So when Marci Langford, Deputy District Attorney for the City approached him, he was thrilled, this could be his big break. But, as with the rest of his life, the case is anything but an opportunity to catch a big break. Marci hires him not for the city but for a cheating husband case...her husband. So for a healthy sum of money and the promise of discretion, he agrees to take on what he thinks is a routine open and shut case of finding evidence of a wayward man. But instead, Steve and Stephanie soon learn that nothing is ever what it seems. While peeling back the layers, they stumble on a crime syndicate that reaches beyond the borders of California to global proportions. With the help of his old cronies, Steve finds that past relationships heal while new alliances form and much to his delight, there is never a shortage of action nor mystery. As the team delves deeper into the clues, the investigation begins to blur the line between their personal and professional lives. The line becomes so transparent that someone close to him will pay the ultimate price.
