Abandoned by his father after his mother died in childbirth, Carlo has slouched his way through life until now. With his pursuit of skirts and pleasures financed by a hefty insurance settlement, Carlo has traveled like a dilettante on the Grand Tour, a barfly on an incessant bender, seemingly without direction or pause. Yet, throughout his soirees he has secretly envied his childhood friend, Harry. Carlo had tried convincing himself he was happy enough and could survive alone.
