Persi has already discovered that she has unexpected powers and that her dreams can become real. Having discovered a series of gold pendants she thought that she would return to being a 'normal' teenager. This changes when on a trip to a local market when a trip to a local market and she becomes ensnared into a different time when a ring calls out to her. This adventure is a lot darker than the first one and she needs the help of others to see her through it. While all this is happening there are also changes in her family life and she unexpectedly finds herself in another unfamiliar position. This is an eventful year for Persi where she is tested beyond her years, but comes out successfully. A good read for young teenagers but also enjoyed by adults who like a bit of fantasy fiction.
