Stroke / Normal?
Paul G Freno
I am Paul Frendo. I am a 51-year-old father of three grown children. A husband of 29 years. Disabled since my stroke in December of 2013. I had an ischemic stroke following a 11 1/2 hour crainiotomy to remove a brain tumor off the base of my brainstem. I spent eight days in a regular hospital, five of those days in a coma. Then I spent the next 21 days in a rehab facility, relearning how to live again. I origionally walked into the hospital on December 2nd 2013 went into Mary Freebed Rehabilitation Hospital in a wheelchair and walked out 21 days later with the assistance of a walker. I experience balance and vision issues to this day. I am still on blood pressure medication. I experienced left side paralysis, neuro- fatigue. depression & anxiety. I recently went on a journey of health, where my body allowed me to lose 100 lbs. in 100 days. I got right with my faith and my body on that journey. This is a story of hope from survivors like you and questions and issues they are dealing with on a daily basis. I hope their experiences help answer some of your stroke normal questions.
