When Laura and Sophie return to Lyme Regis they hear strange stories of 'the ghosts on the beach'. They soon find there is more truth to these stories than they bargained for as they find themselves transported back to 1685, the time of the Monmouth Rebellion. While Laura finds herself caught up in Stuart Court intrigue and hair-raising adventures with Highwaymen, Sophie finds herself on the long and perilous march of the Duke of Monmouth's rebel army to their fateful clash with Government forces at the Battle of Sedgemoor.
