To international students Cheza Riviera, Minsoo Han, and Yuki Takeda, coming to America means different things. To Cheza, it's a terrifying leap into a world where everyone wants her back on the other side of the Mexican border. To Min, it's a chance to settle down with his estranged father after a childhood of globetrotting with his supermodel mother. To Yuki, it's just another place to hide away from the terrors of social interaction. Naturally, all of these things are easier said than done while attending an elite Catholic school in white dominated Northeast Ohio. Cheza, Min, and Yuki's worlds begin to change after meeting their classmates and ESL conversation partners Dezi Talbot and Benji Lawrence, who know a thing or two about struggling to fit in and coming to terms with themselves. Together, the five students teach each other not just about language, but that sometimes all it takes is having faith in another person to make the world a beautiful place.
