James is a middle-aged high school teacher who is worried because of all the disturbing cultural changes that he sees taking place around him. He is very conservative and believes that homosexuality goes against God's law. Meanwhile, James' new girlfriend, Leah, a 34-year-old real estate lawyer, has a problem. Her former prom date, Daniel, has apparently been disowned by his ultra-conservative Lutheran pastor father because he is gay. Can Leah convince James to join her in helping Daniel to re-establish a relationship with his estranged parents? Enter Sylvia, the perky twenty-something-year-old MSW student that Leah enlists to help out with her own struggling relationship with James and...well, let's just say that things get complicated!
