The competition winner for 2017 was Sandy Norris with he story "No Going Back", and the runners-up were Lynne Zotalis ("True North"), Michael McLaughlin ("The Death of Rock'n'Roll"), Maria Borland ("Baking"), Linda DuPret ("When Food Kills"), and Israela Margalit ("Too Much").
