Kaitlyn grew up in a rough neighborhood of the west side of Chicago, Kimberly tried to keep her daughter from that life, but Kaitlyn's father Quinton Moore, he brought all of the drugs, sex, and drama into their home. After the death of Kimberly, Ella Mae Jones Kimberly's mother came to get and raise her granddaughter. But now Mother Ella Mae has passed away, and Kaitlyn is left to go with her mean Aunt Bracey, who lives in Charlotte, N. C. or return back to Chicago. After the funeral Bracey decided to summons Quinton to come get his daughter from Atlanta, GA and continue to raise her the best way he knew how, Bracey wanted nothing to do with Kaitlyn, because of the hatred she had for her deceased sister Kimberly ever since they were little. Now Kaitlyn has to live with her father back in Chicago, and it's not a good life, Kaitlyn's life choices are forced through her father, and her life is spiraling, out of control, to the point that Kaitlyn believes her only way out is through death.
