Our ÄcÄryas such as JÄ«va GosvÄmÄ«, SanÄtana GosvÄmÄ« and ViÅ›vanÄtha CakravartÄ« have given extensive commentaries on the prayers of the personified Vedas, since those prayers refute the idea that Upaniá¹£ads present the supreme Brahman as impersonal. PrabhodÄnanda SarasvatÄ« gives a completely different interpretation of the verses. Since the Upaniá¹£ads became gopÄ«s, he gives the meaning of the verses in terms of mÄdhurya rasa, as spoken by those Upaniá¹£ad-gopis. He also gives a meaning according to the eternal gopis.
