"I Am Come to Lampedusa: an Immigration Comedy" is a comedic novel touching on different topics relating to the immigration and humanitarian problems in both Europe and the United States. It also deals with love, obsession, intolerance, and the perfume industry. Lampedusa is a small island in the Mediterranean Sea. In modern times it is most known as a wonderful vacation destination for tourists seeking sunshine. It is also one of the main destinations for refugees trying to make their way to Europe from Africa and the Middle East. Tragically many of the refugees lose their lives in their attempt to reach this little island. For many, this is the doorway to a chance for freedom for themselves and their families, and they are desperately willing to risk everything for that chance.
