This explosive collection features poems written by the MindWell Poetry Slam Team in 2019. Intended to be performed live, these poems speak to the challenges of living in a world where race, class, identity, mental health and political structures strive to erect barriers. However, these poets are not to be counted among those who lie down or bow to any power structure. These are the words of poets who raise their voices, sometimes two at a time, sometimes all five in unison, to declare themselves stronger than stigma - and more than capable of making their voices heard above the din.
