Note: The workbook is orientated horizontally so teachers can project the worksheets onto smart boards. This version is the teacher's edition and includes answers to each worksheet. A student edition without the answers is also available on Amazon. This workbook is a supplemental learning tool for expressions and equations and complements Common Core Standards. These concepts are the building blocks for more advanced mathematics, including pre-algebra, algebra, ratios and proportions, and geometry. Worksheet topics include evaluating whole-number exponents; generating and identifying expressions, equations, and inequalities with variables; writing and solving equations; and expressing equivalencies. The workbook uses the Problem Solving Maps teaching methodology which was designed to visually break down each problem step by step so students can more easily learn, analyze, and solve mathematical problems. Following this method, students employ critical thinking and quantitative reasoning, which fosters a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.
