A Tale of Two Circles: Retelling a Very Old Mathematical Creation Story is a rather light-hearted, sometimes whimsical account of how a particular intersection of two identical circles establish the source of Geometry and how the patterns tumbling from them create (at least in this story) the architecture of creation. The geometric shape is commonly called the vesica piscis and its origin dates far back into history. As it worked its way through antiquity many of its properties were incorporated into various religions of the world. Christian art, architecture, and symbolism were heavily influenced by this geometry. Is this a children's bedtime story? Nope.
