The Israel-Palestinian, or bigger Israel-Arab hostilities will never lead to anyone's decisive victory. The ongoing belligerence is an attestation to the human propensity to violence and assertion of one's own viability by stating, to paraphrase Descartes, I fight therefore I am. * ¿ Should it not be natural to desire to reconnect with the Land in more ways than just moving in?! Reconnect in every possible way that does not take away from the quality of the Jewish and, generally, human life?! Should we not blend in with the mother country landscape for the natural and tactical reasons?! * The importance of the diaspora support cannot be over-exaggerated. And all understand the danger of most of the world Jewry being in the same place, Israel, and tempting the enemies to strike her. Importance of Jews in the land however supersedes the importance of Jews in galut - a self-evident truth for some, but not all. Would Theodore Herzl be happy seeing so many Jews tarring behind when the gates of ghettos are open? Economic well-being is fleeting, and antisemitism is enduring. Those who want to hold on to the comforts of the West do naturally assimilate - which is another point to the Team Haman. All those who are still able to stay on the derekh must realize the depth of the mental anchorage outside of the land, the strength of golden chains. Now is the time to rise-up and leave the modern-day Egypt. * Jerusalem; the place has always been fought for. Seeing it at peace indicates in some twisted way ebbing of one or another' religious feeling. If something is indivisible and desired by many - what are the choices but fighting for it?! * Mind you that 210 years vs. 2000 years is not ten-fold, or about. There's a geometrical progression in play when one is detached from the ancestral land and every passing year makes it much harder to return. Or not possible at all. So, let the Big Aliyah begin now - it's time to end the prolonged European exile now - a thousand-mile journey begin with the first step, today.
