So, the following fact, printed in the esteemed American Journal of Epidemiology, that those who smoke weed on the average weighed less than the nonsmoker seems on the surface counterintuitive.


The study said that the obesity rates are about a third less for marijuana smokers.


As a pot smoker and a person who has tried just about every diet, I was quite surprised and more than a bit skeptical.


But that's not all; I read another article that detailed a study, published in the American Journal of Medicine that said those who smoked cannabis, the scientific term for marijuana, regularly had a 15 percent lower fasting insulin rate.


And one more thing, smokers also had a smaller waist. The size of the waistline, according to the medical community is a direct correlation with a reduced risk of developing Type II diabetes.


What if you could take a habit that you already have, up until very recently, a bad habit, and turned it into an advantage and become one of those who had a smaller risk of obesity as well as a lower insulin fasting rate?
