This book is a collection of twenty lectures given by Jack Cowan to schools, universities and organizations over the past 15 years, some receiving awards both local and national. They are offered here in remembrance of those individuals and events highlighted in the lectures and for the enjoyment of those who appreciate and study history. These lectures are oriented toward early American and Texas history but also includes history which helped set the stage for the founding of America.
