The foreign-born population in the United States has grown rapidly in the last 30 years. The consequences of the rapid growth is the need for more culturally appropriate social and human services. However, the delivery of the required culturally appropriate services in the highly fragmented metropolitan region has been inadequate. The data collection and maintenance of a database of the biography of the 47 researchers listed in this book is not representative of the total researchers who are passionate about doing research on health challenges faced by African Immigrants. However their work has been showcased at various conferences. Some of their areas of specialization include research on Diabetics, HIV/AIDS, Nutrition and Community Health.
