Arthur, The Amazing Mantis: A Story of Unexpected Connection - Stories from the Natural World Elsa Kendall

"A wonderfully thought-provoking and relaxing book highlighting the bond between a human and a tiny little creature. A finalist and highly recommended!" -The Wishing Shelf Book Awards

A praying mantis mysteriously dropped from above one early October day. I named him Arthur. He spent almost a month with me and during that time we formed a mutually curious and tender bond. The photographs I made when we were together became the inspiration to share this story.

Arthur's quiet adventure is a soulful story for nature lovers of all ages, children and adults alike. It is a story of serendipity and delight, respect and wonder, and the ultimate understanding that we are all truly connected by an invisible and sacred web.

Note to Parents, Grandparents, and Teachers:

Arthur's story is suitable for children all of ages, and may help them understand the natural cycles of life. A gentle introduction to the natural world that will perhaps inspire them to create a connection with a small being of their own.
