Welcome to a different world... as the title implies. The dead insects in ancient amber in this book are snapshots of life from millions of years ago found around the world. These amber jewels contain insects frozen in time, trapped in sticky plant resin, creating pictures of what life was like in these ancient landscapes. These microscopic images are not just scientifically fascinating, they are also exquisitely beautiful works of art...

Dead insects, trapped in tree sap... well, everyone has a history. But what were they like? Did they have real lives? Interactions like ours now frozen in time. The poems are imaginary projections of beings long gone. These insects are much closer to us than you may have imagined....

Many people have viewed these images and commented about their own journeys into these worlds. One of them has been my friend Kimberly Knox, a poet. Her emotional connection to the photographs led to this book.
