The poems in this book span many decades. In truth, neither am I a prolific writer or wordsmith. There are times in life when our emotions overwhelm us and for me poetry is a means of expressing them. Some of us worry that it isn't 'Manly' or it's a 'Cissy' thing to do so but look back to history, haven't some of our greatest heros wrote poems. These poems touch upon love, fear, rejection, war and inevitably death. We have all experienced our first love, young love, a love that can end so cruel followed by emotional barriers set up to stem the fear of rejection. Some are lucky enough to cross the threshold of fear and venture once again to see what life and love can offer. For me, poetry is the key, the release for these emotions. Words never spoken but written. As I get older I look at the world and wonder how wars get begin. From the 1960's until the present day I cannot recall a time when there has not been a war raging somewhere on planet and from war there comes death. From love to death, life's eternal circle. So I ponder and I write.
