Grace is a ghost at her ancestral home, now a girls' ballet school. She's desperate to visit live ballet performances and experience the thrill of thunderous applause. But Grace can't leave Amberwood Hall because she is bound by a spell. The only way to break it is to help someone achieve their dream. That shouldn't be difficult! So, Grace chooses to help Lauren, a new pupil.

But Lauren is beset with mysterious problems and refuses to see Grace. Things get so bad that Lauren is in danger of losing her place, and Grace must use all her wits to help Lauren against rivals and Lauren's own misplaced beliefs.

Despite input from Rodney, also a ghost, and Katie, Lauren's only friend, things don't look good. Can Grace and Lauren help each other before it's too late?
