The Hunting Horn
Lee N Arnold
S. C. Arnold was born on a cotton farm in Central, South Carolina, near the end of the nineteenth century. During his lifetime he was a farmer, a mail carrier, and a postmaster, but his passion was music and entertaining. In his spare time he would sing and play the guitar or the piano, and he would then tell stories. Many of them surrounded his life growing up poor in the South, but occasionally he would tell a folk story. The first story, The Hunting Horn, was recorded just a few years before he passed away at the age of ninety. The other stories and poetry were written down by him and were discovered among his papers after he had passed away.
