The Office Wife
M K Bel Cher
Arriving at Los Angeles airport in 1975, one young woman feels more like a ghost than a new citizen of the City of Angels. Everything has been taken from Andreã Roma. Her husband's infidelity, her older son's diagnosis of a cancerous brain tumor, and an almost fatal car crash have robbed her of physical comfort and security.
In the hospital, Andreã vowed that no one would control her or take anything from her ever again. She is determined to make a flourishing new life for herself and her sons in California.
When Andreã accepts a two-week clerical assignment through a temp agency, she sees it as the first of many opportunities. She begins climbing the ladder in the business world, proving her passion and competency in an industry largely dominated by men (and dominating men at that).
She forms an alliance with Ian Anderson McCollum, her mentor and greatest ally. As Andreã rises through the ranks, her relationship with Ian becomes far more complex. She takes on the role of Ian's "office wife," knowing he has a "house wife" at home. Her intellect and mind for business collide with the emotions of her heart. As she struggles to keep the vow she made to herself and her sons, Ashton and Noah, she wonders...is Ian a man worth fighting for?
