In the aftermath of the great battle, our hero James Best needs to take a break in order to reconcile who he is and what is required of him. The break is cut short with the re-emergence of an old nemesis. James is once again forced to fight for his survival and soon finds himself flung through both space and time. Forced to fight in arenas of death, in a future governed by a ruthless tyrant, James comes face to face with the last person he would have expected to meet. He decides that he has to fix the dystopian future in which he has ended up, but it might prove harder than he could ever have imagined.
