Road Safety and Accident
Marcus Efema Monde
This study highlights road safety and accidents along the Douala-N'djamena interregional corridor from 2000 to 2018. This highway was chosen because it is one of the busiest highways in Cameroon and for the past decade, it has been experiencing an increase in the number of RTCs. In this study we identified two key variables, which are the dependent and the independent variables. Road accident served as the dependent variable, while Road safety served as the independent variable. Various accident causative factors such as: the human, mechanical and environmental factors were identified and studied, to better understand the principal causes of RTCs on the Douala-N'djamena interregional corridor.
